This spicy fruit pickle is still prepared today using the artisan method of Lombard tradition. The fruit, after being carefully selected, is dipped in a sugar syrup aromatized with mustard and, after being candied for a fortnight, is bottled along with its syrup. This particular and original way of using fruit is an ideal accompaniment for boiled or roast meats, game and cheeses.
