Pesteda is an extremely old seasoning used in Grosio cuisine (a typical Valtellina village) that has now spread to Valtellina cuisine in general. Spices and aromatic herbs are used in the preparation, to give a unique taste to every dish. A sprinkling on pizzoccheri, meat or on many other dishes enhances their flavour.
