These soft braids stuffed with Biodelizia bitter orange are perfect to taste during the Carnival breakfast.
- 600g flour
- 2 eggs (plus one for brush the sweets)
- one packet of brewer’s yeast
- 100g butter at room temperature
- 100g sugar
- 300 ml warm milk
- 1 pinch of salt
- one jar of Biodelizie bitter orange
- icing sugar
In a bowl melt the yeast into the milk. In another bowl mix the flour, the eggs, the butter and the sugar. Knead well these ingredients and then add a pinch of salt and milk. Work well the ingredients until you obtain a homeneous dough, then cover the bowl with a cloth and let it rise for 4 hours.
After this time work the dough over a working table and divede it in different parts with the same weight. Work every part in order to form some sticks. Using a rolling pin squash every stick in oder to form some rectangles. Stuff everyone with a spoon of bitter orange. Close every rectangles, and take 3 of them and form a braid. Let them rise for 30 minutes and then brush them with a whipped egg. Cook in a pre-heated oven to 170°C for about 40 minutes.
Sprinkle with icing sugar a serve.
