The word from the nutritionist

You face the summery hot with fruit and vegetables

Do you know that eating fresh fruit and vegetables is not only important to be in good health but also to prepare your body for the summery sunburn?

The summery hot is coming so it is important to follow some easy but useful advice in order to face it in the best way:

- To avoid the hottest hours of the day and to use the correct precaution (solar cream, protection for the sight,…);
- To hydrate yourself frequently;
- To eat a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables and to avoid fat dishes.

If you eat carrots, salads, melons, tomatoes, peppers, apricots, strawberries and cherries you can satisfy various needs of your body. These vegetables are very nutritious and refreshing. They are also able to reinstate the mineral salts lost through sweat, to supply the body with vitamins and to keep efficient the intestine thanks to their high content of fibers.

Wild berries are very rich in vitamins (A, B1, B2, C and E), in fibers, in mineral salts (potassium in particular), in anti-oxidative elements. Their content of water is very high (about 90%) and for this reason they have few calories. During the hot season it is ideal to eat blackberries, raspberries, blueberries and strawberries because they are refreshing and have benefic effects on your skin and sight (especially the blueberries).

To eat fruit and vegetable is not only important to be in good health and to lose weight, but also to prepare your body for the summery sunburn. The vitamin A (or carotene) allows the production of the melanin pigment that gives to the skin the classical amber-coloured. A correct diet can also prevent or attenuate a lot of the sun troubles like erythema or dehydration.
