The climate is milder, the days get longer and spring is in the air: it’s time to go biking

After a long winter, finally we can take our bike out of the garage and get it ready for the new season. It is certain that the bike is an economic and ecological means of transport, independently from the kind you use: a city bike, a mountain bike, a racing bike or an assisted bike.

Riding a bicycle is a funny and relaxing method to keep in a good shape, losing some extra weight and toning the body.

Pedalling is also an aerobic exercise that trains the respiratory capacity and tones up the muscles. Also the articulations have some benefits because you don’t overload the knees and the spinal column and the rotary movement protects the cartilages.

Going biking every day is one of the best methods to prevent the risk of a heart attack,because it improves the cardiovascular capacity and reduces the blood pressure and the presence of the cholesterol in the blood.

For doctors and psychologists, riding a bicycle is a source of good mood: this sport stimulates the production of endorphins by the pituitary gland, which have analgesic properties, that let us have a feeling of well-being. While biking, one is exposed to sunlight, that facilitates the production of serotonin, the happiness hormone, and gets benefits in psychological terms.

Summarizing, pedalling is good for our body and your spirit: so don’t lose any more time and climb on your bike!
